La Pause Rivière is a private 100 m² apartment in Entraygues-sur-Truyère, where the Lot and the Truyère meet. It was set up for families, walkers and anglers, for people who come looking for space and the sound of water rather than a hotel lobby.

The apartment is all on one level, with a few steps at the entrance.

The living room

A large, bright living room with a sofa, a chaise longue and a coffee table. This is where everyone ends up in the evening, when some are back from the trail and others from the village.

The three bedrooms

  • Two large bedrooms facing the river, each with a double bed. You open the shutters onto the Truyère in the morning.
  • One flexible bedroom, with two 90 cm trundle beds. It suits children as well as friends, and rearranges to fit the group.

Six people in total, with no extra bed in the living room.

The kitchen

Fully equipped, and not only on paper: oven, microwave, hob (three gas rings and one electric), a Monsieur Cuisine food processor with its recipe book, a DeLonghi espresso machine, and a small electric barbecue for evenings when you would rather not light the one on the terrace.

The bathroom

A bathroom with a bathtub, whirlpool function available on request, and a hairdryer.

Keeping cool

Three fans are provided. The house is old and holds the cool well, but late August afternoons in the Lot valley can be heavy.

Outside: the terrace and the meadow

This is where the place really stands apart.

The shaded terrace is yours alone. A few steps up from the landing, under the foliage: a wooden table, chairs, a barbecue. Enough to eat outdoors from May to September.

The apple orchard meadow is reached by crossing the courtyard. It is a wide stretch of grass left to grow naturally, with deckchairs and armchairs in the shade of the trees. The Truyère does the rest.

River access is through a gate secured by a combination padlock, put there for parents’ peace of mind, opening onto a small stairway that leads straight into the water. You can swim, launch a kayak, or fish. Without taking the car.

The wellness room

Wellness treatments are available by appointment, on the floor below. You do not have to go out: you go downstairs.

What to know before booking

We would rather say it here than let you discover it on arrival: the house sits on the road linking Rodez to Aurillac. Traffic can be busy at certain times of day, and it is mostly noticeable on the kitchen and bedroom 3 side. The two river-facing bedrooms look out over the water.

One more detail, a nicer one: two ducks live in the entrance courtyard. Pets must therefore be kept on a lead there.
